Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream Review
Andy’s back with another makeup review! ^^ This is something about a BB cream I’ve been wanting to have but never got the chance to buy it since by the time it was released, Holika Holika wasn’t here in the Philippines yet.
I’ve heard so much good things from this BB cream so I finally decided to give it a try! ^^
If you’re into Korean Cosmetics like me, there’s no way you won’t be familiar with this Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream from Holika Holika.
It comes in a very cute frosted bottle that has the shape of a “jelly”. <3 It’s super cute but a bit heavy though because the bottle is made from thick glass. Due to its heaviness, I usually don’t bring this with me.
The box also comes with a free sponge applicator! Cool~ ^^ I love applying liquid face makeup using sponges because they are totally hassle-free and they give such flawless finish (I’ve got huge pores and acne scars so sponges work best for me. hahaha).
It has a bunch of organic ingredients which is a very good thing. It has aloe barbadensis leaf juice that is good for sensitive skin. If you feel iffy about parabens though, then this one might be a no for you. But like what I always say, there was never a proof that parabens are cancerous. They are present in most products because they serve as preservatives which makes your makeup’s life span longer.
It also contains Titanium Oxide, which I believe is responsible for its SPF 20 PA+++ (i’m no expert when it comes to makeup ingredients and chemicals so correct me at this point if I’m wrong). Some people react to Titanium Oxide so better double-check your skin’s condition first, especially if you have very sensitive skin.
Attached to the bottle’s cap is a mini spatula used to scoop the BB cream out. It’s quite hygienic and it prevents you from messing the BB cream up. One thing I have to say though is that the spatula is too small so I find it hard getting the BB cream out. Plus, the BB cream’s texture is too gelatin-like so it slides off easily from the mini spatula.
I love the fact that it’s water-based. Water-based makeup are very easy to work with and they do not produce too much oil like other BB creams do. I can even use just my fingertips to apply it because it is very easy to blend. A little goes a very long way!
Mine is in #1 Aqua Beige. Which is the lightest shade. I believe this comes in two shades only, #1 Aqua Beige and #2 Aqua Neutral.
#1 Aqua Beige matches me very well so it actually looks just like my second skin. It does not look like I’m wearing too much makeup so I love it.
The coverage is from light~medium. It does not cover that much because it’s water-based so it won’t be so thick. If you have more flaws to cover, use a concealer. Applying more of this BB cream won’t help, I tried it. kkkk~
It has a matte finish and knowing me, I’m not a huge fan of matte face makeup. I feel like it’s too much mundane so I want a bit of shimmer or dew. kkkk~ I finish the HH Aqua Petit Jelly BB cream with a mist.
The best thing about this is that it does not smudge off even when I spray mist on. <3 I feel like my skin looks healthier when it looks like this. kkk~
Creepy face ya’ll. kkk~
I usually just apply one layer of the BB cream and as for my flaws like tiny red bumps and dark spots, I cover them up with concealer.
This feels very light on the skin, I think it is because it is water-based.
I’ll give Holika Holika’s Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream a 5/5. It deserves a perfect score from me because it feels really natural and light on the skin. The fact that it’s water-based too, suits my oily skin. The BB cream itself does not produce too much oil so my face does not end up very greasy at the end of the day. The BB cream lasts for 5~7 hours on me during a normal weather.
Will you please recommend more water-based BB creams for me? ^^ I think I’m in love. ^^
